Publishing Editor / Associate Editor (Biomedicine & Life Sciences)
Springer was founded in 1842 and is today the largest science, technology, and medicine book publisher in the world, as well as the second largest academic journal publisher globally. The company publishes more than 2,000 journals and 6,500 new book titles each year, in addition to its array of online services. Springer is part of Springer Science +Business Media, which owns 70 publishing companies in 20 countries throughout the world and employs 5,000 people.
Springer is now looking for experienced editors to expand the publishing program in China.
Position: Publishing Editor / Associate Editor (Biomedicine & Life Sciences)
Location: Beijing
Reporting Line: Report to Editorial Director of Medicine, Biomedicine & Life Sciences, China
Responsibilities:
-To build up the scientific network among Chinese scientific community.
-To plan, acquire and manage scientific journals, books and other products.
- Keep abreast of latest developments in biomedical sciences; focus on emerging topics as well as interdisciplinary research.
-Responsible for the quality of Editorial Projects.
Requirements:
-Masters degree or above in a relevant subject area is a must.
-Previous working experience in international STM publishing industry is desired.
-Experience of living / working in a foreign country outside China will be helpful.
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
-Presentable and fluent in both written and spoken English.
-Strong organizational skills, detail oriented and capable of handling multiple tasks.
-Highly motivated with a sense of self-discipline.
-Proven mastery of Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
